What is Pashmina?

We know they are a fashion
MUST,
 but what is Pashmina?

I'm so glad you asked!  Pashmina is a fine natural cashmere wool fiber, from the changthangi or Pashmina goat.  These goats are from the Himalayan mountain regions of Pakistan, Nepal, and  India. The Pashmina fiber is hand spun from the wool of these goats, and woven into fabric that has become very popular for scarves and wraps. For added softness, often the Pashmina fiber is blended with silk, making a very durable and comfortable accessory.  When purchasing  a Pashmina wrap, make sure you have at least 40 to 70 percent Pashmina wool. The higher the Pashmina content, the heavier the fabric. There are many fake pashmina  shawls sold that are really acrylic or viscose - which are nice accessories, just not true Pashminas.  You can find some true Pashmina and Pashmina/Silk blends at Scarves and More.
